In all of our Homeschool programs at River Springs Charter School , you and your student will work closely with a California credentialed Education Specialist (ES) to choose the appropriate combination of learning programs. River Springs believes that parents are the primary educators of their children. Therefore, our school provides abundant choices in learning options and opportunities that are tailored to meet your child's learning styles and specific educational interests and needs. Our Homeschool Education Specialists are trained about the numerous curriculum resources available to homeschoolers. Parents can learn about a broad range of curriculum and materials that are available by speaking with the ES, and by researching various homeschool groups, and the worldwide web. RSCS offers varying levels of support for homeschooling families: For the veteran homeschool parent we offer the traditional Homeschool program with an assigned ES who meets monthly with the family to provide support and a plethora of curriculum options. For the parent new to homeschooling we offer the Keys Transitions program. Parents whose students enroll in this program are provided with weekly support by the ES, who will train the parent in delivering instruction, as well as providing the strategies and support necessary to succeed as a home educator. The students will work through our Boxed Set curriculum or our High School Curriculum Guides. The parent and students will eventually transition to more autonomy, then either in to the traditional Homeschool program, or in to another more suitable educational environment. Finally, for the Independent Study high school student, RSCS provides the Keys High School Independent Study program; Keys ESes meet with the students weekly to provide lesson plans, tutoring, correction of student work, and the assignment of grades and units.
